Thank you for your interest in HSS. We will be accepting applications through ERAS (www.aamc.org/eras) from September 1 through November 15, 2009. We will review your application when the packet is complete, including:

• ERAS application form
• Medical school and other relevant transcripts
• Dean's letter
• Three letters of reference from individuals capable of commenting on your professional skills and development. At least two of these should be from clinicians, including at least one from a psychiatrist.
• Personal statement including career goals; reasons for applying to our program; and, where applicable, description activities during any non-academic years since college.

Please be aware of the following minimal requirements:

• Medical school graduation or completion of other residency within the last five years
• USMLE score > 80 on first attempt
• US citizenship, permanent resident status, or qualification for J1 Visa

For those selected for interview, we place particular importance on:

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to articulate why HSS in particular would be a good match for your career goals and trajectory.

Competitive applicants will be interviewed November  through January. HSS will offer 8 PGY I slots for 2009-10, and participates in the National Residency Matching Program.

PGY II applicants will be considered on a space-available basis for those applicants who have fulfilled the equivalent of at least the medical requirements of the PGY I year.
