EDUCATIONAL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES
By PGY-IV, most residents will have completed their core clinical rotations. They will prepare for the transition to becoming an independent physician and psychiatrist. With ample elective time, s/he will begin to focus on developing clinical and/or academic areas of interest and excellence.
- The PGY-IV resident will deepen their clinical skills in a series of advanced clinical rotations.
- S/he also has the opportunity to explore new areas or to continue their work in an area of known interest through elective rotations.
- S/he takes on a greater teaching and mentorship role with junior residents.
- For residents with a foundation of outstanding clinical skills, concentrated teaching and administrative opportunities may be arranged, including Senior Teaching Resident and Administrative Chief Resident.
- Residents in the Resident Pathways to Research will implement their research project.
